How to Apply a Botanical Balm to Temples, Neck and Hairline

Last updated: 5 June 2026 · 3 min read

A small amount of balm goes a long way. The technique matters as much as the product. Here is the way we use it ourselves, and what most of our customers tell us works for them.

Start with a pea-sized amount

Warm it between your fingertips for a few seconds. This releases the botanicals and softens the balm so it spreads easily without dragging.

The three points

  • Temples, in small circles, six to eight rotations each side.
  • The nape of the neck, with light downward strokes.
  • Along the hairline, from the centre of the forehead outward.

Pause and breathe

Cup your hands a few inches from your nose and take three slow breaths. The peppermint and eucalyptus give a cooling sensation, and the breath gives the moment shape. Reapply later in the day if you want to return to the same calm.
